There are rock star stories and then there are ROCK GOD stories. Guess where the newest chapter in the saga of Lucas Wolfe and his lady love Sienna falls? I loved this book so much I actually clapped my hands and squealed like a teenage fan-girl while I read it. Consumed is an appropriate title not only for the passionate relationship between the lead characters but also the impact of the story on its readers. Consumed grabbed me from page one and wouldn’t let go until long after I finished the entire book. The perfect blend of heartfelt romance, scorching heat, and gut-checking angst – I can’t recommend Consumed enough.
Consumed starts where Devoured left off, with Lucas Wolfe on Sienna’s doorstep baring his soul in song. Lucas’s personal demons lead to him demolishing Sienna’s heart months earlier but his love for her forces him to man up and do what it takes to win her back. Gone is the unsure young girl he left sobbing, in her place is a strong woman protective of rebuilt heart. Sienna’s brain tells her to send Lucas packing but she can’t deny that throughout all the pain, it’s Lucas’s name etched on her heart.
As the couple reconnect, Lucas is forced to join the rest of the boys of Your Toxic Sequel on a new tour cross country tour. Lucas wants Sienna by his side but their fragile new relationship may not be strong enough to survive the twisted plotting of Lucas’s evil ex-wife, the designs of the covetous lead singer of YTS’s opening act, and violent groupies who see Sienna as an obstacle to their dream man. Lucas and Sienna have to decide if their love will be consumed by the obstacles or if it will be strong enough to last forever.
I know some people are not happy with the delays that have pushed Consumed further and further from its original release date. I was anxious and antsy too, so much so that the moment I saw a Facebook alert stating that the story would be available for sale via Snow’s website I went directly there, bought a copy, made sure my husband was watching our daughter, and went into hiding for a few hours. As I write this I believe Consumed is still not available for sale on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
Waiting for great stories sucks, no doubt, and I have had several stories that I have given up on in frustration over extended waits between releases. Please, please, please – hang in there waiting for Consumed. This story is worth hanging in there for. Both Lucas and Sienna go through major character development that made me love them not only as a ridiculously intense romantic couple but as solid heartfelt individual characters.
Emily Snow has created a rock and roll universe that is brutally honest while remaining exciting and seductive. World-wide recognition, fast cars, expensive guitars, opulent homes, and steaming bedroom time are coupled with crazy groupies, drug addiction, broken relationships, and crippling self-doubt. Consumed made me feel like I was actually sneaking back-stage and getting up close and personal with rock stars and those that they love.
I love this book and highly recommend it. If you’re new to the world of Lucas Wolfe and Your Toxic Sequel, please read Devoured before jumping in.
