My dreams were plagued by warm carameleyes that promised endless hours of yet unknown satisfaction. Damn the man. He wasthe single most beautiful creature I had ever seen...devastating, that was the word forhim. If the whole sleazebag-lawyer thing didn’t work out, there’s no doubt Calvin Kleinor Armani would be knocking down his door. His defined bone structure with highcheek bones, prominent jaw, and strong brow were every woman’s fantasy. And hislips...I wanted to bite those full, luscious lips. Add the chocolate brown hair that beggedto be pulled while locked in an undulating embrace...irresistible!What was wrong with me? I knew he was a conscienceless miscreant. I received a copy of this story for an honest review.
It's here! It's here! I am a HUGE fan of Genna Rulon's For You books and Temper For You was on my list of highly anticipated books of 2014. Now for the story...
Meg Adeio has lived her life like it is built on shifting sands, making no connections because in a minute everything could fall away. Everything changes when Meg is adopted into a rag tag group of friends that refuse to take no for an answer. Surrounded by their love and happiness Meg begins to question if she can risk trying to find a little for herself.
Westly Black has a less then stellar reputation. He mercilessly rules the courtroom and defends his high priced clients regardless of their guilt. Westly's first introduction to Meg may have left a bad taste in her mouth but it left him wanting a second chance. When Westly finds out his new next door neighbor is none other then the mysterious Meg, he become a man on a mission. Westly Black doesn't know how to lose.
As Meg and Wes fight to decide if their destined for a fling or something more meaningful, forces from Meg's past begin to circle the pair putting everything and everyone at risk.
What I Loved: Genna Rulon writes dialogue like nobody's business and reading Temper For You felt like I was part of Meg and Westly's inner circle, getting an upfront view of their relationship as it ignited and caught fire. There were at least 30 quotes that I highlighted because they just jumped off of the page. As a fan of the first two For You books I was super happy to see Sam, Everleigh, Griffin, and Hunter play a significant part in Meg and Wes's story.
What I Didn't Love: The ending of Temper For You left me a little torn. Right around the 85% mark the story switched from heavy emotion to heavy action and I had to reread the conclusion several times to make sure I didn't miss something. Be warned there is a scene of violence that some may find upsetting.
"There are two areas I excel, the law and sex - and when I say excel, I mean I'm a fucking god. You will forget your own name because all you'll be able to do is scream mine over and over again. You want no-strings, mind-blowing sex? There is no one better qualified."
"Meg set all my alarm bells ringing, not because she was inherently dark. More so, it was like a darkness had been planted inside her and allowed to grow unchecked. It was independent of her spirit, but she was forced to carry its burden."
"All we can do is live in the moment and treasure what we do have, not focus on what we don't or may never have."
Overall Temper For You is a good read that provides both steam and suspense. While Temper For You can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading Only For You and Pieces For You first. Both are fantastic reads and will give more depth to the relationship between Meg, Sam, and Everleigh.
