Wicked Waves

Making daggers out of raindrops is only the tip of the iceberg for Brooke Bonham. As one of four women who can control the elements, her ability to manipulate water packs a deluge of potential. Eager to learn more, she’s frustrated at the precautions she must take to avoid the wrong kind of attention on Earth.

Kai's duties as a Lash demon have kept him busy on Earth for nearly two hundred years. Fighting? He was born to do it. Females? They're drawn to him. And Earth? The perfect place for him to avoid supernatural bounty hunters.

Though the two of them mix like oil and water, Kai senses that beneath Brooke’s frosty exterior hides a vortex of simmering passion. He’s determined to thaw his ice princess.

Forced to work together in the immortal realm, they track a rogue Lash demon at the helm of a widespread kidnapping operation. All too soon, Kai’s dark past catches up to them. Time runs out as a second enemy, bent on revenge, vows to stop at nothing short of Brooke’s enslavement and Kai’s death. As they and their foes stalk each other in a demonic game of cat-and-mouse, will her evolving skills and their fledgling bond be enough to save them?

I received a copy of this story for an honest review for Amber's Reading Room.

Wicked Waves finds Brooke Bonham embracing her role in the Soltsi Prophecy, a prophecy that dictates that Brooke and her sisters Nicole and Ginny will be the needed keys in a battle against an ultimate evil. Brooke dedicates herself to training and developing her powers over the element of water for the coming fight. If only that training didn’t constantly put her in the path of snarky and dangerous Lash demon Kai. Brooke can’t get past their introduction where his first words to her essentially were “Make me a sandwich.” The harder she tries to avoid him the closer he seems to want to get.

“Every time she met his gaze, she felt a spark of… something. Excitement? Awareness? Annoyance? She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she didn’t like it."

Kai is hundreds of years old and is the ultimate survivor. After spending part of his youth as a slave being forced to fight gladiator style to live, he knows there’s nothing he can’t defeat… that is until he comes against Brooke’s temper. Kai isn’t sure why every word out of his mouth inflames Brooke’s anger but as Neshi demons start sneaking into the Earth realm at an alarming pace he knows the two will have to come to an understanding quickly.

When Brooke and Kai journey to the demon realm of Torth to find a tool to combat the Neshi, they must learn to trust in each other to survive the harsh environment and a crew of seriously heinous bad guys. What follows is a roller coaster action coupled with loads and loads of steaminess.

“Rational thought bolted from her mind, replaced with his warmth, his scent, his hard muscles pressing her close. His kiss consumed her like flames on dry tinder. She burned for him, and this time it didn’t frighten her.”

Wicked Waves is a fantastic follow-up to Wicked Wind and I’m officially hooked on this series. It’s a telling sign when I embrace not only the featured heroine and hero in the first chapter, but I also start picking out a handful of secondary characters that I start hoping the author will write a full story for (I got up to about six I’m hoping for more on). Author Kay creates such distinct and well-rounded characters; even those in the background of Wicked Waves stand out in a good way.

Brooke and Kai are both fiercely independent and I loved that they grated each others nerves, no instant hearts and flowers for those two. The tension added to the overall excitement of the story.

Wicked Waves should not be read as a stand-alone novel. If you haven’t already checked out Wicked Wind you’ll need to do that first to get a full understanding and appreciation of the Solsti Prophecy story. Wicked Waves will be followed by Wicked Flames and will focus the wayward Bonham sister Gin and Lash demon/tracker extraordinaire Mathias. I absolutely loved Mathias’s character in Wicked Waves, full of cockiness and humor. I can’t wait to check it out.

Overall Wicked Waves is a great addition to the Solsti Prophecy series and an exciting paranormal read. I definitely recommend picking up a copy.

Happy reading.

Spurs & Stilettos *Blog Tour*

Hope Trahan has everything she wants and everyone she needs…except her sister and someone who really is deserving of her. Who knew two separate events would turn everything completely upside down? When her best friend drags her down to the rodeo to help clear her head the last thing she expects is to meet a sexy,  sweet talking cowboy. That’s not what she came for but fate had other things in mind.

Wesley Tyler owns two national titles and is riding his way to the next. The day he meets Hope, he knows
there’s no going back. He soon learns Hope carries ghosts with her she can’t quite shake. She holds things she wishes she could let go of. Wesley just may hold the key to helping her overcome it all. Can he win her over and help mend her broken walls or will her past hold her down?

I’m a bundle of nerves as I step out into the night air. It’s hard to not see him. He’s leaning against his truck.
His back is to me and I almost don’t think he knows I am coming until he turns around to face me. My heart
drops in my chest as I look into his eyes. We say nothing for a minute. We’re taking this time to rememorize
each other, this time without the loud music and bright lights of the club. His hand reaches up and brushes
against my cheek. I shudder trying to control myself. I missed his touch so much. I close my eyes praying this isn’t some dream but I open them and he’s here with his hand still on my cheek. “I miss you Hope.” He whispers. I won’t cry. I’m telling myself that. I’ll kick my own ass if I cry. I won’t be weak. “I miss you too,” I whisper almost inaudibly. We go back to not speaking. I can’t believe I’m standing outside in front of him. In front of the man who completely melts my heart. “Can you forgive me?” He leans in closing his mouth over mine and takes charge blowing my mind. I kiss him fiercely. “I can’t think of you being anyone else’s but mine Hope.” He says between kisses.

My name is Ashley Johnson and I live in Lake Charles, La with my fiance and our daughter. I graduated high

Goodbye Caution *Blog Tour*

Becca Campbell is a mother, friend, and widow to a war hero (may he rot in hell). She just wants to raise her daughter right and keep her bed-and-breakfast afloat in this economy. Her traumatic past leaves her with no desire for a relationship—until Grayson James walks through her door. He’s not the type of man you can easily say “no” to. Becca can’t quite understand the pull she feels toward him. But then his controlling nature starts to push her away—and into Ray McNeil’s comforting  arms. Which is right where Ray has always wanted her.

Who will Becca choose?

Will she finally give in to her feelings for Ray, or continue the tumultuous relationship with Grayson?  Only one thing is certain—either choice will mean saying goodbye to caution.

Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language and violence.

10% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to YWCAUSA.org to help abused women and children.

“I’d like to kiss you again, sweetheart, before we go in there.” His voice doesn’t rise

above a whisper as he leans in.

“Please. I just talked to you about this.” I turn my face away.

“Oh, yes, I do recall your lovely speech.” He smiles and cups my chin with his right hand to

bring my face back to his. “Only trouble is, you’ve delivered it to the wrong guy. I’m a

persistent,” he nudges my lips with his, “and impatient bloke.” Another nudge. “I’m afraid your

words have fallen on deaf ears, sweetheart.” He kisses the corner of my mouth.

“Persistent and impatient.” I repeat the words breathlessly.

“Hmm . . . lethal combination, love.” The words are barely out, and he attacks my lips.

Character Interview

1. When you contrived with Ray to share Becca, did you not consider, knowing your nature, that it might be problem?
I don’t know what the bloody hell I was thinking besides the fact that I couldn’t lose her!
I mean, I was completely snookered. Everything sounds brilliant when your rat arsed! I just . . .
I really screwed up and I knew I had to do something drastic to attempt to win her back. In all honesty, I didn’t completely factor in the consequences of sharing her with Ray because I didn’t think the arsehole really stood a chance!

2. You seem to fall for Morgan almost as hard as you fall for Becca, is the 'ready made family' part of the attraction?

I was looking for a nice, long overdue, visit with my aunt and a great weekend skiing with my mates. I was not looking to fall in love and I most certainly was not looking to become a father. I never even considered having children—ever. But, my God, you’ve all met Morgan—how could anyone not fall in love with that girl? She’s a clever, funny little thing and I absolutely adore her! So, no, a ‘ready-made family’ was not part of the attraction but the love I feel for them made me ready for a family!

1. Obviously you had reservations about Gray and Ray's plan to share your time, but all that aside, you had permission to enjoy two men! How much fun was that??

Can they hear me?

No. They are in the other room.

Security hasn’t been in here?

No. Why do you ask?

Umm . . . you have met Grayson, right?

Oh. Quite right. No. No one’s been in here but us.

Ok. Let’s just say my Slip n’ Slide never saw a dry moment and thoroughly enjoyed the  extensive playtime!

2. How do you cope with the restrictions 24 hour protection must impose?

Well, it definitely hasn’t been easy—that’s for sure! I’ve had to let go—a lot! I’m very impatient. When I need to do something, I need to do it now! Waiting for my detail sucks sometimes. I’m blessed to have Melissa though! She makes it a bit more normal for me. With the exception of the handful I’ve gotten close to, well, it’s just—awkward! I mean how would you feel if there were people outside of your bedroom door every minute—hearing everything? I couldn’t be quiet with Grayson if I tried! So I had to ‘let go’. Now I just think of it like this, ‘Well, at least I’m keeping them all closer to God!’

3. Do you feel any guilt that you and Ray could have probably stayed friends if not for the arrangement?

That’s the worst part of this. I was bound to lose one of them. Ray has been my best friend for about five years now. We’ve done everything together. I have to believe in my heart of hearts that eventually, things will mend between us. We love each other very much and on such a different level. I can’t see how anything can wipe that all away. But to answer your question—yes, the guilt is unbearable. I’ve handled this whole situation very poorly.

1. Why did you wait until Becca was happy with another man before deciding to declare your feelings?

Oh, let me guess who you got that information from! That prick is unbelievable!

Well, we’re only going by what we’ve been told in general. There’s not much evidence to tell us anything different.

There are two sides to every story.

Tell us yours then.

Why so secretive?

We’ve all got our secrets, lady.

(Ladies, I believe Ray just dished out one of his wink/air kiss combinations at me. I may need to change my knickers!)

To answer your question though, I didn’t wait for another man to show up. I’ve always told Becca how I feel . . . in my own way. I love Becca with all my heart but she is one oblivious

2. How do you manage the fact that you actually like Grayson, even though you hate him for having Becca?

I did like him when I first met him. I tolerate him now—barely. I’ll tell you why I do tolerate him, though. That dude is a loose cannon! When Becca has finally had enough of his bullshit and realizes he’s not the man for her, I’ll be waiting—with open arms. Just you wait and People might say the same thing about you, Ray. Call you a loose cannon.

(Ray has just given me, what I believe Becca calls, his ‘sit n’ spin’ face and is now leaving. I have to admit—his arse does do wonders for those jeans. I may or may not have just fallen out of my chair from leaning to keep a good watch on that arse!)

1. Did you have hopes from the beginning that Becca and Grayson would fall in love?

Well, I had hopes that they would like each other and maybe want to date. But I was not expecting all of this. Honestly, I think it’s been all too much for Becca—given her history.

2. When Becca and Grayson argued who did you deep down feel most protective of?

Such a simple question, dear, and yet so complicated. You know I raised Gracie from the time he was fifteen so he’s like the son I never had. Becca, though I’ve only known her for the past several years, is like the daughter I never had. It really depended on the argument. Becca, though she is so strong, is still quite fragile from her past. You know, she didn’t walk away from George on her own accord—he was killed—well, so she thought. So I feel very protective of her when I see Grayson behave so aggressively. My Gracie has never acted that way before. I’ve also never seen him so torn up and broken down by a woman. To see what she has done to him—my heart leans in his direction. Now that I’m with Charlie, I just try to spend as much time with him and let those two kids try to figure things out for themselves.

3. Errrrrrr – speaking of Charlie, Hazel—have you found Jesus yet, and if so, how was it? ;-)

Oh, you are just as bad as Becca is, you naughty girl! Can’t you girls think about anything besides sex? (You should know that she is giggling and blushing at the moment)

No. It’s no secret that women are worse than men! Come out with it then! Is Charlie taking you to church, Hazel?

We may have said Hallelujah a few times. (giggling) Oh no! Don’t put that in there! Oh dear, that’s not going to be seen in a national newspaper, is it?

No. No, of course not! (Internationally on the internet but we won’t tell her that!)

Oh good! (sigh of relief) Well, it was so nice to talk to you, dear! Make sure to come and stay with us at The Morgan Inn—we’d love to have you!

Thank you, Hazel! (I want to steal this woman and take her home with me! Bloody cute,

Shelter You *Blog Tour*

She's mine.

That was the first thought that came to my mind when I held my baby in my arms at seventeen. I didn't care that my parents had already promised to give her to a wealthy family. That they were forcing me to give her away.

She was mine.

I ran away from that hospital, from that family, from the only life I knew. I planned to start over with what little money I had, determined to make something of myself despite the odds.

Then Logan Tate came along.

Gorgeous and controlling, he claimed he was trying to help me, and he didn't care that I was just another teenage pregnancy story.

But I don’t trust him. I don't trust anyone. And if Logan knew the real secrets and lies I was keeping inside, he wouldn't dare try to shelter me.

Logan has the late shift again tonight, I find that these are the times when his job

is the hardest for me to accept. When he’s gone long into the early hours of the

morning and my mind runs wild wondering what he’s out there doing. I try my

hardest to get sleep in between Lily’s feedings but it’s difficult and I imagine that it

never gets any easier.

I let out a sigh of relief when I hear the front door open and close, he’s home and

I know that he’s safe. I see the light from the master bathroom flicker on, he must

have accessed it from the hallway. He normally comes in to say hello to me before

he showers but tonight he doesn’t. I toy with the idea of going in there to make sure

he’s okay but I think better of it. I push the worry out of my head and wait, wait for

him to come to me. To tell me if something is wrong even though deep down I feel

that something is definitely off.

A few minutes later Logan enters our bedroom wearing just a towel. He bypasses

the dresser where he keeps his boxer briefs and heads straight for the bed, straight

for me. He pulls the sheets back, tosses the towel to the ground and climbs into bed.

His head lands on my chest, my hands instinctively reach out for him, I gently rub

the top of his head. I don’t know why his behavior scares me, but it’s not a fear of

him hurting me, it’s a fear of him being hurt. “Logan?” I whisper softly. I don’t need

to say anything else, he can hear the question in my voice.

Stolen Hearts *Blog Tour*

Title: Stolen Hearts

Author: Christy Newton

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Publication Date: June 6, 2013

Tour Host: Verna Loves Books

Jewels, deception and adventure…

Twenty-two year old Cammie Adams knows one thing for sure – life isn’t fair. She’s still an emotional wreck from the tragic loss of her parents seven years ago. Right after she gets her PI license she is not only robbed, but abducted, only to find her life was all a lie. When she finds her mother’s diary, she discovers she was only a pawn in her mother’s dangerous game. Now she must get back what is rightfully hers from the man that murdered her mother.

Hot and mysterious, Simon Fisher has really only loved one thing – jewels. This  ex-jewel thief, now bodyguard, doesn’t even know what hits him when he rescues  Cammie as a favor to her father. Simon must protect her, but soon finds out where  there’s trouble, Cammie isn’t far behind. She will not only steal his prized jewel, but soon finds out where there’s trouble Cammie isn’t far behind. She will not only steal his prized jewel, but his heart.

The next morning, when the sunlight hit her face, Cammie wondered if the robbery and the letter from her aunt had just been a nightmare. She rubbed her eyes, looked over at the nightstand and saw the letter right where she’d left it. Damn, it was all real. Frowning, she got up and got dressed to run.

After a few quick stretches, she jogged around some small puddles left over from the storm last night. When she rounded a curve, she heard a car coming up close behind. She turned her head to look and saw a black Town Car. The car quickly stopped beside her. An eerie feeling came over her as she reached for her phone. A man wearing a dark suit and sunglasses got out of the car and grabbed her before she could dial. She struggled to free herself from his strong grasp. A needle pricked her neck and the blackness closed in.

Now that Lucas has declared his love for her, Sienna is sure the drama between them is over.

She’s not afraid of Lucas’s ex-wife or whatever secret the other woman is holding over him. For two blissful days—the remainder of Sienna’s contract with Lucas—they hole up in a vacation house in the mountains of Tennessee, consuming each other. At the end of their stay, Lucas comes to Sienna with a proposition: his band, Your Toxic Sequel, is going on tour with Wicked Lambs, and he wants her with him the entire time. Sienna agrees to work wardrobe and be his official girl.

Life on the road is different from anything Sienna has ever known. Not only does she have to deal with Lucas’s band members, but she’s also forced to be around Cilla, the lead singer of Wicked Lambs, who’s clearly in love with Lucas. Despite horny band mates and a persistent gorgeous rock goddess determined to sink her claws into Lucas, Sienna stays by his side.

Then the threats start.

Lucas’s ex-wife Sam isn’t happy that he’s moved on, and Sam begins harassing Sienna—everything from threatening emails to phone calls and even fake accounts on Your Toxic Sequel message boards slamming her and spreading vicious rumors. Sienna keeps this from Lucas since she knows how bad Sam is for his music.

It’s not until Sienna is attacked by a crazed YTS fan hired by Sam, and Sam starts to aim her verbal threats at Sienna’s grandmother, that Lucas finally reveals his secret. And it’s a big one...

There are rock star stories and then there are ROCK GOD stories. Guess where the newest chapter in the saga of Lucas Wolfe and his lady love Sienna falls? I loved this book so much I actually clapped my hands and squealed like a teenage fan-girl while I read it. Consumed is an appropriate title not only for the passionate relationship between the lead characters but also the impact of the story on its readers. Consumed grabbed me from page one and wouldn’t let go until long after I finished the entire book. The perfect blend of heartfelt romance, scorching heat, and gut-checking angst – I can’t recommend Consumed enough.

Consumed starts where Devoured left off, with Lucas Wolfe on Sienna’s doorstep baring his soul in song. Lucas’s personal demons lead to him demolishing Sienna’s heart months earlier but his love for her forces him to man up and do what it takes to win her back. Gone is the unsure young girl he left sobbing, in her place is a strong woman protective of rebuilt heart. Sienna’s brain tells her to send Lucas packing but she can’t deny that throughout all the pain, it’s Lucas’s name etched on her heart.

As the couple reconnect, Lucas is forced to join the rest of the boys of Your Toxic Sequel on a new tour cross country tour. Lucas wants Sienna by his side but their fragile new relationship may not be strong enough to survive the twisted plotting of Lucas’s evil ex-wife, the designs of the covetous lead singer of YTS’s opening act, and violent groupies who see Sienna as an obstacle to their dream man. Lucas and Sienna have to decide if their love will be consumed by the obstacles or if it will be strong enough to last forever.

I know some people are not happy with the delays that have pushed Consumed further and further from its original release date. I was anxious and antsy too, so much so that the moment I saw a Facebook alert stating that the story would be available for sale via Snow’s website I went directly there, bought a copy, made sure my husband was watching our daughter, and went into hiding for a few hours. As I write this I believe Consumed is still not available for sale on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Waiting for great stories sucks, no doubt, and I have had several stories that I have given up on in frustration over extended waits between releases. Please, please, please – hang in there waiting for Consumed. This story is worth hanging in there for. Both Lucas and Sienna go through major character development that made me love them not only as a ridiculously intense romantic couple but as solid heartfelt individual characters.

Emily Snow has created a rock and roll universe that is brutally honest while remaining exciting and seductive. World-wide recognition, fast cars, expensive guitars, opulent homes, and steaming bedroom time are coupled with crazy groupies, drug addiction, broken relationships, and crippling self-doubt. Consumed made me feel like I was actually sneaking back-stage and getting up close and personal with rock stars and those that they love.

I love this book and highly recommend it. If you’re new to the world of Lucas Wolfe and Your Toxic Sequel, please read Devoured before jumping in.

Happy reading.

Marking Her *Blog Tour*

Talan wants to mark Maya—with more than his ink. The owner of a prominent tattoo shop, he’s used to being hit on by easy women. Though “easy” is not a word associated with Maya when she comes in to support her friend. Flirtation ensues, but what will it take to break the painted man.

“When’s my next appointment?” I asked my receptionist Janice while making my way

around the front counter. I’d just walked out Lance’s crush and wanted the day to be over.

“You have one more, Talan. Esther is due in twenty.”

“Fuck, I forgot about her.” My body slumped against the counter. The boys and I were

hoping for the evening to be slow, allowing us an early night.

“That’s why I’m here, handsome. To serve you in any way you need,” Janice purred, and

I sighed as I flipped open my laptop and logged in. I’d made the mistake of wetting my dick in

her a few months back when she first came through my door. Afterward, she became jealous and

clingy, wanting more than I was willing to give.

The only reason she was still there was because she had bigger balls than the other two

fuckers that worked there. Janice could handle the leers, gestures, and jokes like a pro, but fuck

with her inventory or dirty my shop, and she will rip you a new one.

“Janice, cut that shit out,” I demanded before storming off toward the back and into my

sanctuary. The guys all laughed when I walked by. I flipped them the bird and continued on into

my room.

An hour had passed since I’d asked Janice if I was clear and there was still no sign of

Esther. It was the usual for her. The woman would be late to her own funeral, but this was a new

one for her.

She was never this late.

I was becoming agitated by the lack of common sense people had to pick up a goddamn

phone. How hard could it be to let me know if you’re coming or not? There was just something

about a person’s lack of punctuality that pissed me off. Not caring if I had shit to do or places to

be was plain rude.

I was worked up to the point of walking out the damn door.

“Janice,” I called out into the now empty shop. She’d insisted – once the boy’s left – in

staying behind to help me set up, not listening to my refusal. “Call Esther and reschedule. I’m

beat and—”

“I’m here,” Esther yelled, rushing through the door. “Traffic was a bitch and I—”

“Save it and get in my chair before I kick you out,” I grumbled and rubbed my throbbing

“But, I brought—”

“Is he always this rude?” a soft, feminine voice I didn’t recognize asked.

I looked up, and was startled by the sexy little thing that stood before me. She was young.

Much younger than what I was normally attracted to; at the most this little nymph was twenty.

The beauty had black hair; wavy and tousled locks that swept down to the middle of her

back, with side-swept bangs across her forehead. Her face was sweet, innocent, while her gray

eyes spoke of mischief, and in my case, trouble. Lips, those fucking cherry-red lips, were plump

and inviting—the perfect Cupid’s bow that begged to be nibbled.

I let my eyes traverse her short frame and my mouth watered. She truly was an itty-bitty

thing. With my six-foot-four frame, I towered over her, dwarfing her delicate one.

My feet carried me closer to where she stood, next to Esther in the receptionist area. I

wanted her laid on that black marble top so I could feast on her. The drought I’d been on as of

late might have been making me desperate...then again, looking at her was making something

within me want to just take, consequences be damned.

We watched each other; she followed my every move and I, her every breath.

My eyes dropped from her perfect face to hungrily devour her chest and a shiver ran

down my spine.  The two pert, no bigger than a handful breasts, sat high on her chest. She wore a

simple camisole that did little to hide her obvious happiness to meet me.

My cock twitched as her nips puckered.

I continued my assessment and found my hands clenching the second her narrow waist

and flared hips came into view. My nails dug grooves into the palms of my hands, the slight

pinch keeping me in check. The desire to pull her closer, grab onto her flesh, and leave my prints

behind was almost unbearable.

She was a slim petite thing, with the sexiest pair of legs my eyes had ever seen; they were

bare for my enjoyment. A tiny pair of denim shorts barely covered her lower region, marking

every groove and molding onto her sinful flesh as if they were a part of her.

I was hard.

“Wow,” a voice coughed to my right, pulling my eyes away from Bitty.

“You can say ‘thank you’ for my gift now and eye fuck her later.” Esther laughed while

Bitty turned red around the cheeks.

This cute little thing blushes?

“Talan, it’s getting late,” Janice interrupted suddenly, “and we have plans.”

“I’m sorry,” Bitty spoke up, turning to Esther, “maybe we should come ba—”

“No.” The word popped out before I could think to stop them.

“Yes.” My glare cut off Janice before she could continue, eliciting a chastised look from

her. Who the hell did she think she was to be so rude and hostile toward my client and someone

who, I hoped, would soon be my friend?

“Enough, Janice.” I let the words come out encased in a low, warning growl before

turning toward the two women with raised brows. “You two head on back.” Bitty went to protest

at my command, but instead bit her lip, causing me to groan. Fuck, I need to get this situation

under control. “Esther, you know the drill; lose the shirt and get comfy. Bitty, I want—”

Bitty crossed her arms, scowling adorably. “Who you calling ‘Bitty’?”

“You, sweet thing, now quit interrupting me.”

Bitty huffed, but I saw no real annoyance in her expression.

“Talan, can we have a word please?” Janice butt-in, again. If this chick didn’t leave soon

she was going to find herself without a job.

“No, and for fuck’s sake—go home.”

“But,” she whined and gave me a ridiculous pout. The two other girls in the room

laughed. Janice didn’t appreciate this and turned her icy glare on them.

“Come on, Es, seems the big, bad, tatt boy has his hands full,” Bitty cooed with a sexy

giggle and pulled a nosy Esther behind her. The two walked off, down toward the room with my

name on the door. They walked in, and while Esther went to strip, Bitty closed the door.

Her eyes—those damn cat-like grey eyes—set on mine, blazing with amusement while

she winked then pushed the door closed.

“What the fuck was that?” Janice hissed once they were both out of earshot. “You should

have a little more—”

“Get out,” I said through gritted teeth.

Janice’s jaw jutted forward in defiance. “Are you into that little girl?”

I pointed toward the door. “Out and quit pushing . . . you’re walking a fine line.”

Hurt flickered in her eyes. “Talan, I—”

“Go home, Janice. Go home before I fucking lose the last bit of patience I have today

and kick you out permanently.”

Guest post!!!

How I became a published author.

My journey began in 09 when I discovered the Twilight Saga and became obsessed with this

extraordinary tale of eternal love. Once I finished the series I became restless… I wanted more.

This hunger made me scour the net and the author’s website for extras or news of upcoming

books. One day in particular, my search lead me to the Fanfiction.net site, and as they say, the

From reader, I became an author on the site, and have been extremely lucky and grateful for all

the support and love I’ve received over the years.

The readers I’ve garnered through each of my stories have always told me to publish. That they

enjoyed my work and thought they would make great full length novels. It’s because of their

words that I entertained the idea of becoming an indie author.

Best decision I’ve ever made.

I spent three months rewriting my first novella, Ardor . . . turning what was once a six thousand

words twilight one shot, into a twenty six thousand word short story. It was hard work. I learned

a lot about myself as an author and how brutal the editing portion of this journey could be.

The result was worth every headache, tear, scream, and laugh.

Through this journey I’ve discovered something I’m passionate about and enjoy. I’m happy, and

at the end of the day, no matter what path you take, that’s the goal we all strive for.
