I received a copy of this story for an honest review. Pictures used as part of this review are used for fun and do not belong to me.

CAUTION – If you are not a fan of hotness in large doses you may want to avoid The Sin Circus. One of the sexiest anthologies I’ve ever read, The Sin Circus features a grown-ups only big top where the wild and wanton are put on display nightly. Comprised of eight unique stories, The Sin Circus serves up a little something for everyone. Steamy but still kind of sweet stories – check. M/F/M and F/M/F ménage a trois – check. Light and heavy BDSM – check. Public orgies – super check. The stories are easy reads, full of quick bursts of excitement. The breakdown:

Ring of Fire by Lacey Wolfe – The fierce new ringmaster of The Sin Circus must decide if he’s strong enough to control the crazy troupe while giving his heart to its beautiful fire dancer.

Greatest of Ease by Anne Lange – Nicco gave up the circus life, as well as his childhood love Lucia, to pursue a career in law. After an injury side-lines his brother, Nicco is called home to fill in on the trapeze for The Sin Circus. A wild night with Lucia and her new man has Nicco questioning if walking away a second time is possible.

Dark Surrender by Rachel Firasek – Ivy D. Suede is the dark Mistress of The Sin Circus. When life throws her a curveball, Ivy’s frustrations cause her to cross a line with her loyal and loving Submissive that she may not be able to come back from.

Twice the Pleasure by Georgina DeBurca – A cheating boyfriend and a terrifying fall leave one star of The Sin Circus doubting her worth. It’s up to her handsome twin dance partners to prove that to them, she’s everything.

Claimed by the Blade by Mina Carter – Dani has spent so much time saving the knife throwing act her bastard ex left in shambles, she never noticed his gangly young protégé grew into a stunningly sexy man. Can they move their passionate act from the stage to the bedroom?

The Bratty Lioness Tamer by Milly Taiden – Gabby and her love Crystal perform as human lionesses for The Sin Circus. As much fun as they have together, they need a Master to truly be complete. When a face from the past shows up in the ring, the lionesses and the audience are in for a performance to remember.

Sweet and Sticky by Sabrina Garie – A struggling author earning extra money as a concession girl and a down-on-his-luck literary agent decide to put on their own show in the empty bleachers of The Sin Circus.

Unmasking Her Dom by Jennifer James – The King Harlequin is a powerful Dom whose confidence performing in The Sin Circus hides some terrible secrets. Afraid of giving too much of himself to his Submissive, he decides to send her away but she’s not going without a fight. She’s willing to invoke his rage to take their relationship to the next level.

In the world of anthologies, The Sin Circus is pretty hard to beat. Overall the stories are well written and cohesive. Though each story has its own flavor, the eight separate pieces flow together almost seamlessly. My personal favorites were Greatest of Ease and Claimed by the Blade. Fun and saucy, those two caught my attention.

Do yourself a favor and pick up The Sin Circus, it's a worthy walk on the wild side.

Happy reading.

Laura's Wolf by Lia Silver *Review*

Roy Farrell is convinced that he has no future.

Roy never wanted to be anything but a Marine. But on his last tour of duty, he was bitten by a werewolf. Next thing he knew, he was locked up in a secret underground laboratory. Despite the agony caused by his newly enhanced senses, he managed to escape his captors. Unable to return to the Marines, his entire life shattered, he hid out in the woods of Yosemite.

Laura Kaplan is desperate to escape her past.

Curvy bank teller Laura was acclaimed as a hero for her courage during a bank robbery gone violently wrong. Overcome with guilt over the people she couldn’t save, she fled the city to seek solace in a lonely cabin in Yosemite. But she can’t run forever from the dark secrets of her past.

Can two broken people heal each other?

After Roy is badly wounded saving Laura from a mysterious enemy, they take refuge together in her snowed-in cabin. Forced to depend on each other for their very survival, they must come together to save their lives, face their fears, and find their hearts.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.

Laura Kaplan, a semi-reformed con artist with major self-esteem issues, has been raised to roll with the punches and adapt to survive. The crushing guilt she experiences after witnessing a brutal crime sends her running to her father’s secluded cabin for a little R&R. The last thing she expected to find was a gorgeous veteran nursing his own wounds in the barn on her father’s property.

“He didn’t know what had happened to cast that shadow over her, but he had the urge to take her into his arms, hold her tight, and tell her that everything would be all right.”

Roy Farrell, a dyed in the wool soldier, never anticipated that in one fell swoop he’d lose his military career and be forced to go on the run from the government he dedicated his life to. Turned into a werewolf by his best friend and fellow soldier in an attempt to save him from fatal battle field wounds, Roy knows he may spend the rest of his days as a lab rat if he doesn’t stay on the move. One look at Laura has him rethinking that plan. As Roy struggles against the new powers consuming him, he starts to feel a separate call to protect Laura at any cost. A call so strong that he may be willing to share his secret with Laura.

“You can yell and swear if it’ll make you feel better. You got shot protecting me. There’s absolutely nothing you can do that’ll convince me you’re not a world-class badass.”

As Laura and Roy face mounting threats from a dangerous opponent, the two must learn to trust each other and face their personal demons – together.

“Maybe it didn’t matter if they both needed years more to heal. They didn’t have to wait till they had perfected themselves to live their lives and be together. They could start now, as they were. They had already started.”

When it comes to indie books I am a big fan of the old saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” So when I say that I hope you don’t judge Laura’s Wolf by its cover, know that I mean it in the best possible way. A hot shirtless soldier standing in front of a full moon gives off a very, very sexed up paranormal vibe, but in reality Laura’s Wolf is so much more than that. It’s almost three stories in one – a sweet and spicy romance, a paranormal action adventure, and a touching story about a soldier dealing with the effects of PTSD.

The one issue I had with the story is the pacing. Where the first 85% of the book is pumped full of energy and completely flies, the last 15% of the story heavily focuses on Roy’s issues with PTSD and gets slightly bogged down.

Overall Laura’s Wolf was a solid read and a unique spin on the paranormal beauty and the beast standard. This would be a fun pick-up for other paranormal fans.

Happy reading

Slade by Alaska Angelini *Review*

MARY is the perfect tool to use against the man who took his sister, Lily. What better way to exact retribution from Governor Hagen and force him to bring Lily back, than to steal his own daughter and threaten to sell her as a sex slave, too? But, even the best laid plans don’t always go
smoothly. Slade ends up falling for his captive, and is faced with a decision that might just cause him to lose the one thing he doesn’t want to let go.

SLADE is every bit the animal he portrays. Dominant, dark, unbending, and possessive—her own personal predator. Mary can’t help but be drawn to the soul deep darkness in him. It calls to her like nothing she’s ever felt before.

When her father bends to Slade’s will and releases Lily, will Mary be
allowed to walk away and follow her father's plans to marry another, or will Slade make her a captive to the dark…forever?

WARNING: This book contains very graphic violence, disturbing situations, dubious consent, and very strong language.

I like dark reads... I really do. This was just in the wrong category and is not a dark read in my opinion. I struggled with this one a bit. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it and I think most of my rating comes from having it in my head that the book would be one way, but in reality it was far from my first conceived idea. I didn't fall in love with the characters. I didn't feel their relationship and it hindered me from digging into the book and not putting it down. I did put it down actually twice before finishing. This one might be for you, but it wasn't really for me.

Knight by Julia Sykes *Review*

A woman shattered…

He took me and broke me.

I am plaything, a possession.
If I did ever have a name, I don’t remember it now.

Slaves don't have names.

Salvation found in obsession…

He stole me away from the man who tormented me. He saved me and took me into his care.

His touch keeps me sane.
His control keeps me grounded in reality.

He demands that I reclaim my humanity, my autonomy.
He forces me to piece the shards of myself back together.

I am utterly devoted to my savior, but his brand of rescue might leave me more broken than ever.

How can I ever become truly whole again if I can't learn to let him go and take control of my own life?
Do I have a hope of finding freedom when he refuses to release my heart?

Or is this new form of captivity just what I need to survive?

WARNING: Given the nature of this story, this book contains graphic violence and references to sexual assault, which some readers may find upsetting. It also contains sizzling scenes of (consensual) BDSM!

NOTE: Knight is part of the Impossible series, but it can be read as a standalone story without spoiling the other books.

Impossible Series Reading Order:
Impossible: The Original Trilogy (Monster, Traitor, and Avenger)
Savior (An Impossible Novel)
Knight (An Impossible Novel)

I struggled to get through this. I skimmed too. I could not connect with these characters. I kept stopping and thinking... really? I just didn't buy it. I felt like this one tagged onto the hype of some other stories. It wasn't the best for me.

Finding Autumn by Beth Michele *Blog Tour*

My name is Autumn Winters.

The truth is, that's the biggest lie I've ever told.

My real name is Olivia Redmund. Autumn Winters is the curtain I hide behind. You see, I write bestselling erotic romance novels. But my life is far from erotic. The only fantasy exists in my head.

The day I met Hunter Grayson, that all changed. A handsome stranger on a train who turned my world upside down, made me think and feel things I never knew were possible.

But he's hiding, too.

What happens when I slowly realize that who I truly am is more similar to who I'm pretending to be? I want to be brave enough to tell the world, but the fear is crippling.

Fear of myself. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what others will think.

But life is too short to be afraid.

And I'm so damn tired of hiding.

Add to Goodreads

This one definitely lit me up... Damn I need new batteries... *Fans self*

*4 burning stars*

Beth Michele has come on fire in Finding Autumn. It was sexy and fun. I found myself chuckling at a lot of the banter and inner thoughts.

"Wish me luck. Pray for cocks to rain down on me."

Olivia

Hunter

LIES LIES LIES....

Well lies of omission really. Olivia and Hunter's story is all about chance encounters. They meet on a train... Have a little sexy time then spend a weekend together... Throw in some LIES of omission and here we jump start the story.

Guess what?! Hunter lies... and Olivia was pretending to be her erotic novel writing counterpart... so... more... lies.... Now everyone is just a confused mess hoping they can sort their shit out.

Who is she? Olivia? Autumn? A mixture of both?

**Sweet**  **Sexy**

"Are you fiery, Autumn?... Because I think you want to be, I think you are."

Because of lies, Olivia and Hunter miss out on each other. Luckily another chance encounter will bring them back together for a second round or three, or four, or damn who is counting when it's hot sex?!? I think you'll love the sexiness and the humor that is a strong pillar in their relationship.

I'm anxious for another book on the other characters because I think that one will be even hotter. Guess I better buy stock in Energizer... It was great and I thank Beth for the ARC generously provided to Amber's Reading Room.

“Shit,” I mumble to myself when I spy the pink vibrator, glaring proof of my non-existent sex life now on public display. “God damn it,” I utter again, shaking my head and scrambling to grab it, when I notice a pair of beautiful, masculine hands scooping up my belongings. Completely mortified, my cheeks flush a deep red, and I’m silently praying he hasn’t spotted my favorite sex toy. My eyes make their way from the ground, climbing past the hands and up the length of strong, muscular arms to an absolutely gorgeous face, and I take a hard swallow. A chiseled jaw with a hint of stubble, irises the color of aged brandy, a sharp, sculptured nose, and perfectly tousled hair that matches his hypnotic eyes. I don’t realize that I’m staring until his lips quirk up into a grin.

Could I be any more obvious?

He tosses the items back in my purse and nods toward the vibrator. “I’ll let you handle that one,” he offers, his voice a rich timbre to my ears. “Although,” he whispers, leaning in close, “I’m sure I could put it to good use.” My mouth drops open in surprise, just as he reaches his thumb out to skim my bottom lip. “I’m pretty sure I could put this sexy mouth to good use, too.”

Beth Michele is the author of Love Love, Lovely, Scarred Beautiful, and Finding Autumn. She is a Connecticut native who loves spending time with her husband and two children.  If you can’t find her, though, she’s probably hiding out with her kindle somewhere quiet, preferably a spot overlooking the ocean.  She has an affinity for Twizzlers, is a hopeless romantic, and a happily ever after fanatic.

Giving In by Maya Banks *Review*

Kylie sees the way Jensen looks at her. The dark promise in his eyes. That rough edge of dominance she knows he possesses. But dominance is the one thing that frightens her above all else. She and her brother barely survived a childhood steeped in violence and abuse. She could never give up total control and submit to a man. Especially a man like Jensen. Could she?

Jensen sees the shadows in Kylie’s eyes. Knows he has to tread very carefully or risk losing any chance he has with her. All he wants is the opportunity to show her that dominance doesn’t equal pain, bondage or discipline. That emotional surrender is the most powerful of all, and that to submit—fully to him—will fulfill the aching void in her heart in a way nothing else ever will.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review. Pictures used as part of this review are used for fun and do not belong to me.

Kylie Breckenridge is alone and intends to keep it that way. As a child she faced the ultimate betrayal from a violent and abusive father. As an adult she suffered the tragic loss of her hero brother, the one who rescued her from a living childhood nightmare. Kylie is broken and won’t risk opening herself to more pain from anyone, let alone the man that now sits in the top spot of the company her brother built.

Jensen Tucker sees something in Kylie that no one else does. He sees a strong fighter that needs encouragement instead of the constant coddling her friends give her. If he can only get her to stop looking at him like he was the devil incarnate, he may be able to convince her that he lost his heart to her the moment he laid eyes on her. He’d do anything, even suppress his Dominant nature, to make her happy.

“You’re going to have to work a hell of a lot harder than that to scare me away. You and I are inevitable, Kylie. I’ve accepted that. Now you have to as well.”

After the release of Letting Go, book one of The Surrender Trilogy, I heard a few complaints from other readers that they didn’t like it because it was not as hardcore as some of author Maya Banks other works. To me this isn’t an issue – it’s actually part of the reason I love Banks as a writer. In one series she can write stories so insanely hot I feel like my face is melting because I’m blushing so hard. In other series, much like The Surrender Trilogy, Banks focuses on strong emotions and character growth that quickly invests me in her characters and makes me care about them on a personal level.

Giving In is a touching love story of two people who were horribly damaged as children, two people who find the strength to embrace who they’ve become and what actually makes them happy. Giving In is the kind of romance that doesn’t need a love scene every other page, it wouldn’t make sense for the characters. That said, the loves scenes Banks wrote in Giving In are still pretty stellar.

“I trust you. I love you. Don’t hold back. Not with me. Show me who you really are. Because that’s the person I love.”

Overall Giving In was a solid read. The one small issue I had with the story (and it is super small) is that even though a couple of characters mentioned that Kylie should seek help from a mental health professional, the suggestion was repeatedly blown off. I would have loved to have seen the character seek help and understand that doing so wasn’t a weakness.

“It only stands to reason that since we’re both such fucked-up individuals that we stick together and be fucked-up together.”

The Surrender Trilogy will conclude this summer with Taking It All, the story of Joss (the heroine from Letting Go) and Kylie’s best friend Chessy and her husband Tate. Author Banks has laid some solid ground work for this troubled pair and I’m psyched to see a romance focusing on a married couple that have already found love with each other but struggle to maintain it. Also, Chessy has been such as strong, loving, and supportive character in Letting Go and Giving In that I’m really excited for a story that focuses on her wants and needs.

Giving In should not be read as a stand-alone. If you haven’t already checked out Letting Go, you’ll need to read that first. This trilogy is definitely worth checking out.

Happy reading.

Savannah Series Box Set *Review*

Complete Box Set of the Savannah Series with Bonus scenes & Kayden's POVs from Southern Desire!

After suffering from a humiliating heartbreak, Savannah Livingston gives up on love in a bid to protect her fragile heart and rebuild her now shattered life.

Her Desires are awakened when she encounters the sexy and intriguing Kayden Knox who flips her world on its axis. They forge an irresistible connection, entangled with sensual pleasures, and an inferno of passion.

Kayden Knox has found the woman of his dreams. After enduring a life full of loss and heartbreak, he finally has found his soul mate and the one woman who can reawaken his heart to make him love again. But not everyone is happy for the new couple; throwing obstacles in their path and testing the strength of their newfound relationship.

When they think they’ve jumped over every hurdle that’s come their way, an inescapable tragedy strikes unexpectedly rocking Savannah and Kayden to their very core. After going through a terrifying ordeal, Savannah has to rebuild her life with the help of her supportive friends, family, and most of all Kayden. In order to build a new, indestructible future with Savannah, Kayden first has to face the demons of his past; exposing the secrets he keeps close.

Their journey is full of trials and tribulations as Kayden and Savannah fight to overcome incredible odds, obstacles, and frightening ordeals, but in the end they find an infinite love like no other.

Kayden Knox is one hot cowboy with just as much money as he’s got charm. Savannah Livingston is a southern stunner nursing a broken heart and wounded pride. When the two meet in The Savannah Series, the irresistible desire they feel for each other leads them to a future neither could have imagined.

The Savannah Series was a pure fun romantic read for me and I recommend it highly for any romance or New Adult fans. Originally released as four individual stories, The Savannah Series is now available as a boxed set. The box set comes with all four original books in the series and also includes bonus scenes and scenes retold from Kayden’s POV. Not having to worry about cliffhangers is always a win for me and the extra scenes really do add something to the overall story. As a boxed set, The Savannah Series is a hard deal to beat.

The closest thing I would have to compare the series to is a super addictive/sudsy TV show, the kind where regardless of what you’re doing you drop everything when it comes on so you can talk about it with your friends the next day (I’m thinking Scandal now and Grey’s Anatomy/Sex in the City back in the day). There’s the smoking hot main couple that is the core of the story and the romantic end-
game, the quirky and brutally honest best friends who always provide support while juggling their own melodrama, romantic rivals that add spice and frustration without really jeopardizing the hero and heroine’s relationship, and family members that are so crazy they make you look at your own relatives a little more fondly. Interesting characters are given extra shine with clothes to die for, cars to drool over, and a soundtrack that accentuates everything they do. I’m talking about the kind of show where the drama is so juicy and the romance is so hot, you can’t help but binge watch.

The Savannah Series was a total binge read for me. My original plan was to read one book of the series each night for four nights in a row. I started the first book around 9 pm one night … and cut to me at 3 am realizing I finished the series and only had 3 hours until my alarm clock was going to go off for work. The fuzzy head and blurry eyes were worth it.

The Savannah Series reading order:

1) Irresistible Desire

2) Inescapable Desire

3) Indestructible Desire

4) Infinite Desire

The players:

Savannah Livingston – The beautiful twenty-four year old only child of two internationally successful country superstars, Savannah works to establish her own career at Envy magazine while longing for the type of family life she missed growing up in the spotlight.

Kayden Knox – At twenty-six years old, Kayden is a billionaire oil tycoon and business entrepreneur with deep southern roots. Blessed with good looks, talent, and “ahem” other assets, Kayden excels in business and with the ladies. Kayden feels an instant connection to Savannah and believes she may be the one to finally get him to settle down.

Logan – Savannah’s long-term boyfriend, a model/surfer who runs his own talent agency. Logan’s looks hide his smarmy side and his set course to break Savannah’s heart.

Brooklyn – Savannah’s best friend and an up and coming actress. Incorrigible flirt who goes straight for the bad boys but will drop everything to have Savannah’s back.

Reagan –A talented photographer and Savannah’s partner in crime at Envy. Loves the party life and encourages Savannah to live on the wild side.

Jax – Kayden’s loveable Australian driver/body guard who takes a shine to Brooklyn.

Dixon – Kayden’s business partner and rough around the edges cousin. Dixon is the only person with better game than Brooklyn.

Jacob & Zak – A cute gay couple (much to Brooklyn’s disappointment) who move next store to Savannah for the summer and quickly integrate themselves into Kayden and Savannah’s daily lives.

Maverick and Paisley – Savannah’s superstar parents who love their daughter but can’t resist the call of the road and their fans.

Victor and Luanne – Kayden’s estranged father and his father’s much younger fiancé. There’s no love lost between the three and the secrets between them could put a major road block in Kayden‘s quest for a relationship Savannah.
