Join Max and Ava for the dramatic and passionate conclusion to the Work of Art trilogy.
I received a copy of this story for an honest review.
Books I and II of the Work of Art series are so vibrant and passionate that I went into Book III: The Masterpiece expecting big things. Author Ruth Clampett met my hopes for the finale with a story chock full of angst and amour.
Tortured artist Maxwell Caswell never expected to find happiness with his beautiful and compassionate muse Ava. But as the two finally commit to each other a professional opportunity for Ava threatens their fledgling relationship. Can two stars shine bright in one couple? Or will one be forced to sacrifice success for personal happiness?
What I Loved: Author Ruth Clampett infuses Max and Ava with a vitality and zest that makes them pop off the page. I ate up their trials and tribulations while cheering them on to a very worthy HEA. The pair showed great character development and it was a tremendous payoff to see Ava come into her own and for Max to embrace what was important to him - life with Ava. I am a sucker for a well written epilogue and The Masterpiece has a pretty epic one.
What I Didn’t Love: From scheming exes to scheming want-to-be admirers, cross country moves, family reconciliations, and international adventures - The Masterpiece has a lot to keep track of. As much as I loved the drama I would have appreciated a smidge more Max and Ava one on one time.
“Periodically, women approach him, as men do me, but we work as a team, deflecting and rebuffing. We are like stealth ninjas – newly trained professionals in the relationship game.”
“Passport? Check. Electric convertor plug? Check. Paris guidebook? Check. Travel partner and love of my life? God only knows."
Work of Art (Book III: The Masterpiece) is a solid conclusion to the love story of Max and Ava. Fans of the series will be super satisfied. If you're new to the world of Work of Art I suggest giving all three books (The Inspiration, The Unveiling, The Masterpiece) a go. Author Ruth Clampett has created a beautiful, well-written story I easily recommend.
