Gage Synclair, international, hard-hitting investigative photojournalist, is preparing for the final special report of his career…a story of deception and murder six long years in the making. And after ten years in some of the worst parts of the world, he’s ready to settle life down and open an art gallery in his hometown of Chicago. The only thing getting in his way, he needs to find a competent electrician to finish the job before his grand opening.
Trent Cooper, electrical contractor, is surprised by the last minute request for a fast-paced electrical remodel, wanting nothing more than to get his foot in the door with Layne Construction. Being gay in the construction industry isn’t easy, nor is being father to his two young adopted children. Trent keeps his life in separate zones to avoid a short circuit. But when the gallery owner propositions him on the first day, Trent can’t help but think his worlds are a little too close for comfort.
Will their high-voltage passion spark everlasting love or will their lives break the circuit between them forever?

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.
Kindle Alexander is a rock star of M/M romance and The Current Between Us is another gem in her catalogue of stellar reads. Both sweet and spicy, The Current Between Us swept me up and I enjoyed every page. Here are five reasons to check out the story:
1. Trent Cooper - I fell head over heels in love with Trent Cooper in the first chapter. How could I not love a devoted father who gladly sacrifices (especially sleep and a personal life) to make sure his kids have everything they need?
2. Gage Synclair - Gage is a total alpha male and it was fun to see his tough persona soften as he embraced not only his attraction to Trent but the depth of his feelings for the man. Gage has great character growth.
3. Emmie & Hunter - Too often in romance when kids play a key part in the story, they can come off more like props than true characters. Emmie and Hunter were adorable and real. I could see how a world weary character like Gage would be as taken with them as he was with their dad.
4. Plot - The Current Between Us nicely blends the blossoming romance between Trent and Gage with the mystery of Gage's last major news report. The story is simple but engaging and I was able to reads this in one evening.
5. Quotes like this - "These feelings I have for you are so strong, I've never had them for anyone before you. It's a little scary... but I simply don't run from fear, Trent. It's not who I am. I run toward it and I know now without question you're the end of this road. I want you."
The Current Between Us is a beautiful story about embracing unexpected love and the strength of family. I loved it and gladly recommend it.
Happy reading.
