*Review* Lies in Rewind (Audio Fools #2) by Tali Alexander

"Karma never disappoints. Karma always delivers..."

New York City attorney Sara Klein has created a perfect world for herself with her beautiful lies. A world in which she is the object of every man’s fantasies and the envy of every woman. Only one man knows the truth about the dark secret Sara is hiding, the only man she’s ever loved and can never have.

But Sara’s world of lies starts to unravel the day sexy British heir William “Liam” Knight storms into her life. He’s seeking revenge and answers for past betrayals, and will use anyone he can to get them.

An unlikely friendship between two lonely hearts seeking solace turns into love that will shatter a lifetime of lies, span two continents, and leave Sara facing the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help her God.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.

You have to respect an author who can take an established world of well loved characters, spin it on it's axis, and make you fall in love with those characters for completely new reasons. Author Tali Alexander does just that with her latest novel Lies in Rewind.

Lawyer Sara Klein has made creating a facade of power and seduction an art form, but the wear and tear of years of lies has put serious cracks in her foundation. William “Liam” Knight has grown up in a world of wealth, privilege and heartache. When William's attempt to play white knight to the wrong damsel in distress shines light on Sara's crashing image, can the two provide each other a life raft or will they be each others undoing?

What I Loved: Love in Rewind is to this day one of my top ten reads of all time so to say I was excited for Lies in Rewind would be an understatement. My love for Lies in Rewind has almost zero to do with it's predecessor, Lies is it's own animal and the raw vein of emotions that flowed through the heart of its story captured me completely. I cried in public reading this book. Any book that can create such a powerful reaction and one that I'm willing to experience in front of strangers I have to recommend. Lies in Rewind is beautiful and you won't regret giving it a read.

What I Didn't Love: Lies in Rewind deals a lot with looking back to learn how to move forward. The initial interactions between Sara and Liam occur in a very compressed timeline and the story occasionally gets a little foggy as it jumps back and forth between a very complex long-term love affair and a new quickly escalating passionate encounter. Lies has two additional time jumps that left me with several questions that hopefully will be answered in the next book in the series.

Favorite Quotes:

"I've been as strong as I could be for as long as I possibly could without going crazy. I've waited, prayed, believed, lied to the world and myself and ultimately... I lost."

"I look up at him and for a split second, I see my life in a completely different light than the hell I orchestrated for myself. For a moment, I feel hope."

"I need this rewind in order to finally be able to press play. I actually want to tell him everything."

No spoilers but the Audio Fools Series will continue with Jeffrey Rossi's story. I have no idea how Alexander is going to do it, but I have a feeling she may make me fall for a character I currently want to throttle... I can't wait.

Happy reading.
