*New Release & Review* Wild Aces by Marni Mann
His darkness drew me in.
A mystery with a past I wanted to solve.
He was cold, like ice, but set me on fire.
A heat I hadn't felt in ages.
But when I saw his face, I burned...
She melted from my voice--shuddered from my touch.
But trembled from the memories
That my face brought back.
She wanted more...
Maybe even him.
I wasn't the hand she counted on.
But I was what she was dealt...
A Wild Ace with no way to win.
B&N: Coming soon
I received an advanced copy of this story for an honest review.
The Timber Towers series was one of the best things I read in 2015 so I was beyond thrilled when author Marni Mann announced that she would be spinning off a separate story for smart and sassy secondary character Brea Bradley. Wild Aces will please established fans of The Timber Towers Series but also be a great intro point for readers new to Mann. Exhilarating and touching, Wild Aces is a story not to be missed and I recommend it without reservations.
What I Loved: Wild Aces is a gem of a romance that skillfully blends humor, mystery, suspense, drama and steamy passion. I fell in love with Brea in the Timber Towers Series but the character's hidden depths author Marni Mann exposes in Wild Aces just hit me in the heart. The connection Brea and Trapper build over the course of the story feels incredibly real and strong.
What I Didn't Love: Overall Wild Aces is a top notch read. I would have enjoyed just a smidge more insight into Trapper's past and what went into building his unique business.
"I'm saying I don't want just a perfect cock anymore. I want a perfect cock with a good man attached to it. And frankly, I don't think that's asking for too much."
"There was something about him I trusted, something deeper than our kiss and the words we'd spoken to each other. I wasn't sure why or how it was even possible after knowing him only a short time, but I wasn't letting those questions hold me back."
"He makes me feel comfortable and nervous as hell at the same time. I don't know what to expect from him... and I like that."
