She was off limits,
But he couldn't resist.
There are just some guys you don't touch--even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother's best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can't resist. After all, she's wanted him for years...
On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend's sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.
Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It's his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he's never forgotten that he's coming after her . . . in more ways than one.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
Dare to Take (Dare to Love #6) is an energetic second chance romance that I was able to finish in one sitting. The story moved quickly and kept me invested with great pacing, charming leads, and a very satisfying HEA. I recommend this romance happily.
What I Loved: Carly Phillips created two amazingly complex but believably sweet characters in Tyler and Ella. The self doubt and confusion emanating from both had me in turns wanting to hug them and yell at them to look at the great possibilities in front of them. Tyler and Ella's growth over the duration of the story is incredibly satisfying and the conclusion of the story made me very happy.
What I Didn't Love: There is a subplot regarding Ella's safety and the threat against is not hard to figure out.
"He was doing what he'd promised, soothing her old fears and insecurities, allowing her to become a butterfly emerging from her cocoon, braver and stronger than she'd been before. No matter what happened between them in the end, she'd owe him for showing her this side of herself, she thought."
Those new to the Dare family can jump right into this standalone with no worries. This was my first dance with the Dare books and I enjoyed Tyler and Ella's story so much it definitely won't be my last.
