*Blog Tour* Savage Savior by Charleigh Rose

Title: Savage Savior
Series: Savage People Book 3
Author: Charleigh Rose
Genre: Dark Erotic Romance Standalone
Published: December 18, 2016

“Um. There are no words. None. Because holy crap was that book everything I thought it would be and more.” - Tongan Book Lover
“OMFG Charleigh Rose you guys are some dirty bitches! I FLOVE Carter!!!! He is MINE I don't care what anyone says.” - Reader Review
“I loved this book couldn't put it down, was so worth the wait.” - Reader Review

Love. It's a strange thing, isn't it? It can make you. Break you. Take you to places you've never been before. I know what they say about him. What he does for the Irish mafia in New York. But the thing is, love is blind. It binds. And now, we're bound for life.

Charleigh Rose is a secret duo of romance authors who teamed up for the sake of fun, sexy smut. Our philosophy:
 1. Our heroes should always be so alpha, you won't be able to read them in public.
2. Heroines will always be sassy, strong and take zero sh*t from their men.
3. Taboo, dark, twisted, weird, bizarre and original. We won't give you what you've already seen a million times before.
4. The sex will be explicit, hot, smutty, and completely insane. Make sure your door is locked and you have a toy around when you read us. We're dedicated to fulfilling your fantasies and to having fun with each other. We created this pen name so we can play around with our readers and each other (naughty naughty). Buckle up and join the ride!

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.

What I Loved: Charleigh Rose stories always include knock your socks off, hotter than hot sex scenes and the connection between Carter and Quinn makes the scenes ten times more intense. I was able to finish the story in one sitting and was satisfied with the leads growth and development.  There is a great epilogue that puts a nice little bow on the series.

What I Didn't Love: Though this can be read as a standalone, I went into this read with some high expectations after the first two Savage People stories and some of those expectations weren't met. This story had a really dark tone and Carter constantly pushing away Quinn took a toll on the story. While still good, there was a missing "IT" factor that made the first two Savage People great.

Favorite Quote:

"Sometimes the most beautiful things are born out of darkness."

Happy reading.

*Blog Tour* Blade of Forever: The Complex by Scarlett Dawn

The Complex Book Series.
A Lone Planet. One Complex.
Unlimited Chaos.

Harley never expected to fall into the arms of her enemies.

Much less their bed.

But the stars align when two all-powerful Giants, with supernatural ‘swords’, flip her galaxy upside down. The Complex is one messed up place to find your mates, except when it occurs, there’s no stopping it. Not even when you die.

So what happens when a crafty President, a raging Death bringer, and a snarky Human collide?
One galactic, laugh-inducing, sexy good time.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.

What I Loved: Blade of Forever: The Complex is a short and spicy read that appealed to both my inner romance fan girl and my inner sci-fi fan girl. Interesting foreign worlds with exciting mythology – check. Plucky heroine with lots of attitude and fight – check. Drool worthy alpha males who play by their own rules – super double check. Overall the novella was exciting, engaging and I was pleased with the ending.

What I Didn’t Love: This felt a tad short even for a novella. Gan, Harley and Ol make a solid trio in their few scenes together but I feel like Gan and Harley got the majority of page time and development in the story. I would have enjoyed a little more of what Ol was bringing to the group and with the group together as a whole.

Favorite Quotes:

“War and death taught me I could only depend on myself.”

“The frightened were so easy to fuck with.”

“I was made whole again in the arms of my enemies. I had finally found my happiness.”

I really enjoyed Blade of Forever: The Complex and would recommend it for sci-fi/romance fans who like a quick trip to the worlds beyond with a little heat on the pages.

Happy reading.

*Blog Tour* Face-Off At The Altar by Toni Aleo

Markus Reeves is sucking. Big-time. Toiling away on a minor-league hockey team hundreds of miles away from home, he's watching his dreams of an NHL career fade away. Add in the lingering guilt he has over the dramatic demise of his relationship with college girlfriend, Mekena, and he's a mess on and off the ice.

But the family of his heart, the Sinclairs, won't let Markus suffer any longer. When he arrives himself back in Nashville for a trial run on the Assassins, it feels like his life may be making a turn for the better. If only he could get Mekena to forgive him...

Mekena Preston has been hurting since fleeing Nashville following the horror of Markus's betrayal with her sister. Now a professional photographer, Mekena finds herself in the same place at the same time with Markus to celebrate Lucy and Benji Paxton's wedding. Neither of them has been able to move on—and they're starting to wonder if they really want to.

They're headed for a face-off at the altar unless they can confront their past and unearth the truth about what really happened on that fateful night.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review.

You know those reads that you find so ridiculously satisfying that you have to put the book down after finishing it just to take a small break before jumping back in for another read? Face-Off At the Altar is one of those reads. I have been not so patiently waiting for Markus and Mekena’s story and was rewarded with a wonderful second chance romance full of growth, honesty, and a promising future. Markus and Mekena squeezed my heart and had me cheering as they worked toward their HEA.

Mental health is an issue I believe in strongly and I love how Toni Aleo handles the matter. There is no shame in needing help to address struggles in life be it overcoming a personal trauma, dealing with addiction, or finding the tools to cope with the loss of a loved one. Aleo has addressed this beautifully in several of her stories and does so again in Face-Off At The Altar. It added a nice sense of realness to the relationship Markus and Mekena were fighting for.

Don't fret, there are also plenty of steamy scenes to get your blood pumping as well as plenty of humor from a lot of tried but true Assassins/Bellevue Bullies to balance things out. I highly recommend checking out Face-Off At The Altar.

Favorite Quotes:

“Never in my life have I had sex with someone and just felt empty when I left them. That’s how it is with you. I get out of you, and I want so bad to get back in there and live there.”

“I don’t ever want to be a me again, only a we.”

“He started walking first, his shoulders back and his chin high as he pulled her along with him. All she could do was watch him. Watch the man who would walk through fire, ice, and anything else to be by her side. The man who would forever be the first and only love of her life.”

The world of the Assassins/Bellevue Bullies has continued to evolve with amazing well developed characters and captivating stories. Long time Aleo fans will be thrilled with Face-Off At The Altar and newbies can jump into this story with no problem.

Happy reading.

“You are, by far, the most patient man I know.”
Baylor grimaced as she took Dawson from Markus’s outstretched hands. He smiled as Dawson looked at him innocently. He knew the little guy didn’t mean to puke all over him and he wasn’t upset, but he was trying to figure out a way to get to the house and shower before he had to talk to Mekena. He highly doubted that baby puke would be an aphrodisiac. Maybe it would be? Huh.
He wasn’t going to try, though.
As Baylor cuddled Dawson against her, Markus waved her off. “It’s no big deal. He’s a baby.”
She smiled shyly. “Yes, but Ashlyn pooped on you too.”
He grinned as he shrugged, trying not to laugh. It was a tough rehearsal for Dawson, Ashlyn, and Markus. Puke and poop were big-time stars during the hour of watching the Sinclairs and Grace Justice try to put together a wedding. He wasn’t sure what was funnier, Jace glaring as Jordie walked with Avery, or Ashlyn farting and then realizing she had just shit all over him. It was a toss-up, but then Dawson decided to puke down the front of his shirt, and he figured he was now a substitute for a baby rag. “I volunteered.”
“Still, we’re really sorry,” Avery said, holding Ashlyn close as she rocked her back and forth. “I understand if you don’t want to watch her ever again.”
“Nonsense,” he said, laughing as he tucked his hands into his pockets and looked around. He spotted Mekena at the front of the altar, taking pictures of random things. He wasn’t sure if she was done, but maybe he could slip away. “How much longer until y’all are done?”
“We’re done, but Lucy and Benji have some pre-wedding pictures they’re having done with Angie.”
“So Mekena isn’t done?”
Avery smiled. “Nope, she’s got a bit.”
“Can you pass a message for me?”
“Sure.”
“Let her know that I went back to the cabin to shower and clean up?”
“Yeah, of course. I’ll tell Jace to tell her since I’m taking Ashlyn to bed.”
“Cool, thanks,” he said, kissing her cheek and then Baylor’s, before rubbing Dawson’s head. “I’ll see you guys in the morning.”
Before he could get far, though, Baylor smiled. “Thanks again.”
“Anytime. I mean that.”
Avery smiled. “Thanks.”
“Also, good luck,” Baylor added.
Flashing them both a big grin, he nodded. “I need it.”
Heading out the back, he made it back to the cabin quickly. When he entered, though, Mr. Right was sitting on the windowsill howling. “Whoa, man. What’s up?”
Meoooooowwwwwwww, he wailed, with his mouth wide open as his hair stood on end.
“Bro, I don’t know what to say. I don’t speak your language. Are you singing? Do you want me to sing too? Meoooowwwwww,” he said, and Mr. Right looked back at him, almost with a glare. “We should add some beat to that and make a remix,” Markus joked as the cat wailed. Deciding that was a good idea, he pulled out his phone and started to beatbox as the cat wailed, recording it on his SnapChat. The cat must have realized what he was doing because he looked back, scowling, and Markus hid his phone. He didn’t want to admit it, but Mr. Right kind of freaked him out.

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

And neither are skeletons. If there’s one thing Kayla has learned it’s that skeletons don’t just come out of the closet; they bust through with the power of a locomotive, mindless of the destruction they cause.

Excerpt
“It really boils down to one thing,” Simone said. “Do you trust him?”

She made it sound so easy, but as I examined my feelings and tore apart his words, dissected his actions, I realized that I did. Mostly. There were plenty of things not to trust him about—anytime he came near me with his cock at the ready and a belt or whip in his fist, for instance—but on a fundamental level, I did trust him.

If I didn’t, why would I keep putting myself through this? Why keep bending and bending and bending?

“I do trust him,” I said, swiping my bangs to the side. “I love him. More than I could ever say. More than even makes sense.”

“Then I’d put the baby mama out of your head. He married you, and though I won’t begin to understand or approve of your…weird relationship, he has always come across as pretty fucking whipped.”

I almost spluttered my tea all over the table at her words. Gage, whipped? But the more I thought about it, the more it clicked, because when you got down to the nitty-gritty, we had each other wrapped. “I guess you’re right. I just wish I could get that woman out of my head. The way she touches him, and the way she glares at me…God, Simone, she makes me see red and green at the same time.”

“You need a fucking hobby.” Simone’s mouth twisted into a scowl, but her gaze softened as she said it to take out some of the sting.

“A hobby?” I asked, absently picking at my half-eaten quiche. Apparently, the subject of Katherine made me lose my appetite. Or maybe it was the smell of overcooked cheese. I pushed the plate away, scrunching my nose. “Why do you say that?”

Simone made a scoffing sound, and I glanced up to find her reclined in her seat, arms crossed. “To hear you talk, it sounds like your whole life revolves around Gage and what he may or may not be doing with Katherine.”

A hobby might not be a bad idea. Maybe I could start collecting trinkets, like dolphins or dragons.

Or elephants.

Definitely elephants. Lord knew I had plenty of those in my life. Gigantic ones that ate up too much space and sucked up all the air. One stood between Gage and me in the form of Katherine. But the biggest one sat smack in the middle of Simone and me.

This elephant’s name was Ian, and he’d grown too secure in his comfy spot since that damn note had magically appeared on my door. But it was easier, safer, to focus on my marriage and the interloper named Katherine. The subject of Ian was too dangerous. Too painful.

Simone must have agreed because she didn’t bring him up once.
